Haughton Honey

Wednesday, March 29th, 2017

Locally made Haughton Honey’s raw English wildflower honey comes from the meadows, gardens, trees and farmland across the countryside. Their raw honey comes straight from the hive, extracted cold and is never pasteurised so that it retains all of the natural enzymes and proteins. Each jar is different depending upon the time of year and what types of flowers their English bees have been collecting their nectar and pollen from. The honey may have traces of dandelion, hawthorn, chestnut, lime, blackberry, clover, rosebay willowherb and more.

Allergy awareness week starts on the 24th April and thousands of people claim that honey is a natural remedy for hay fever. On dry sunny days when the pollen count in the air is high, a huge number of people suffer with runny noses and eyes. Apparently a spoonful a day, preferably before the pollen season begins eases the symptoms. As long as you use a course filtered honey with the pollen intact, such as Haughton Honey, it desensitises you to the pollen. Why not try it and let us know how you get on?
