The Douglas Fir
Work is well under way on the newest addition to our Forest Lodge family; The Douglas Fir. For the last couple of months, Danny and his team have been busy transforming the cleared site; digging the foundations, building the framework, filling the floor, building the chimney, putting up the walls, adding the windows, cladding, and much more! Each time we go for another look at the progress, even more has been completed!
Taking inspiration from The Noble Fir, this brand new lodge will sleep up to four guests and will be the height of log cabin living. One of our Directors, Phil, has a great eye for interior design and has been involved in the design work from the original Forest Lodge and each new one in turn, in addition to a whole scale renovation of The Hollies Highland Hotel; Muckrach Country House Hotel.
Phil’s vision for the Douglas Fir is that “it will be our most luxurious Forest Lodge yet”. Imagine tartans and plaid, chandeliers, a cosy log burning stove, porcelain bathrooms, and granite surfaces. Not forgetting of course the fabulous decking area housing the Jacuzzi hot tub spa that comes as standard for all of our Forest Lodges.
