Home-grown Pumpkins

Wednesday, September 28th, 2016

After careful nurturing by Richard and Cyril, the harvest of our home-grown pumpkins has now started. With the help of Ewan, Richard’s Grandson and fourth generation of The Hollies Farm Shop family, the pumpkins are being brought down from the field and into our Farm Shops. Pumpkins are a rich source of vitamins A and B, protein, iron, potassium and fibre; why not brew up a warming Autumn pumpkin soup? After you’ve removed the flesh for your soup, they are ideal for carving and creating scary face lanterns as we get nearer to Halloween!
