Manchester Gin

Wednesday, January 24th, 2018

Our Gin of the Month this February is Manchester Gin. Manchester Gin is created by Jen Wiggins and Seb Heeley with the help of their copper still ‘Wendy’ in Manchester; the city they live in, met in and fell in love in. As Manchester Gin was inspired by the city it is made in, the logo’s key feature is Manchester’s motif; the Worker Bee.

Manchester Gin is a small batch gin and each bottle is hand filled, capped and labelled. A total of 12 botanicals are used when distilling Manchester Gin including dandelion and burdock root which is a link to Jen and Seb’s Northern childhoods, as well as juniper, ground almond, coriander, angelica and citrus peels. This gin beautifully balanced and incredibly smooth, perfect in a gin cocktail or as a classic G&T served with a twist of orange peel & rosemary or a slice of fresh red grapefruit.

Nose: A clean and inviting fragrance with a classic juniper undertone and bright citrus top notes.
Palate: Dry citrus freshness followed by sweet liquorice and cassia, finished with earthy, spicy notes in the background.
Finish: A smooth creamy finish with a soft eucalyptus tone.

Their Raspberry variety is infused with the finest raspberries to give a perfect fruity gin. More commonly known as “Pink Manchester Gin’, the aroma of the sweetest raspberries and its look make it unmistakable. Try this one with fresh raspberries and a sprig of fresh mint.

Manchester Gin and Manchester Raspberry infused gin both feature in the 59 Gins hand selected to go into our Gindex in our Restaurant & Gin Bar, 59 at The Hollies at Little Budworth.

During February, receive a free Hollies branded gin glass when you buy a 50cl bottle of Manchester Gin from The Hollies Farm Shops – what a perfect gift for a gin lover (or treat for yourself!)!
