St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice

Wednesday, May 30th, 2018

Here at The Hollies Farm Shop, we support a selection of local charities each year. This year we are proudly supporting 30 years of care from St Luke’s Hospice. St Luke’s is our local hospice; since 1988 they have been providing specialist, high quality care and support for patients and their families as they face the challenges of life-threatening illness.

Every single service at St Luke’s is provided free of charge; they pride themselves on supporting and caring for people when they are at their most vulnerable. Last year St Luke’s supported over 1,000 Cheshire locals with a huge range of support from end of life care on their ward to supporting carers, and from helping children cope with grief to helping patients return to work after an illness.

St Luke’s is a charity and all their services are given free of charge. They receive limited support from the government but a staggering 84% of their costs are covered by donations. Your support really will make a difference.

For the last couple of months Rosie and the team at Lower Stretton have been fundraising for St. Luke’s! They had a bucket in the farm shop for customers and staff to put in donations before Rosie and her boyfriend ran the Manchester 10K in the middle of May. Thank you to your donations at Lower Stretton, you helped Rosie to raise £566 towards her £1100 total! What an amazing amount! Thank you and well done to Rosie, the Stretton team and our lovely customers!

On the 18th, 19th & 20th May 2018, with your help we raised £265.90 in our Little Budworth Coffee Shop and Restaurant 59 at The Hollies all of which goes straight to St. Luke’s. We added a £1 voluntary donation onto guest’s bills – thank you to everyone who donated!
