Garden Nursery

It’s all go for the team in The Hollies Garden Nursery at Little Budworth! They are still potting planted tubs and hanging baskets to add a splash of colour to your garden for high summer. Pots of rhubarb are for sale ready for planting, they are sewing the wallflowers ready for autumn and weeding the Christmas trees to make sure they look in good condition for the festive season.

After carefully nurturing the pumpkin seedlings in the greenhouse, we have now planted them in the fields at Delamere. We had to wait until the soil had warmed slightly and all dangers of frost had passed. The success of the pumpkin crop will depend heavily on the weather – fingers crossed for perfect conditions and a great crop ready for autumn!
