Godminster Cheese

Monday, January 22nd, 2018

Our Cheese of the Month this February comes from Godminster Farm, set on the outskirts of the picturesque town of Bruton in the heart of Somerset. The farm was registered organic in 1999 by owner Richard Hollingbery whose environmentally friendly and ethical approach to farming meant organic was the only way. With 1300 acres of beautiful landscape, the farm is home to 280 organic dairy cows and boasts fruitful orchards filled with a variety of fruit and vegetables.

The Godminster cows enjoy a simple and wholesome life and as a result produce delicious creamy milk. The freshness of the milk and the sustainable approach to farming is a major contributor to the distinctive taste of Godminster cheese.

Treat your loved one to a Godminster heart shaped cheese for a quirky alternative this Valentines; the perfect partner for any cheese lover!

Godminster Vintage Organic Cheddar is handmade by traditional methods using a 70 year old recipe and comes wrapped in a distinctive burgundy wax, shaped as a heart. It is a firm pressed medium to strong cheese with an exceptionally creamy, rich and full flavour.

Godminster heart shaped Organic Brie has a fresh flavour and creamy texture. The brie can be young and firm or runny and ripe depending on how long you leave it before eating.
