Manchego

Tuesday, December 13th, 2016

Our January ‘Cheese of the Month’ is Manchego which is produced in the La Mancha region of Spain and is made from sheep’s milk. They traditionally use grass moulds which leave a distinctive and characteristic zigzag pattern on the outside of the cheese. Aged for 2 years, it is well developed but not too strong.

Our Deli Manager Graham recommends Manchego as part of a Deli board alongside some fabulous products that are available from the Delicatessen at Little Budworth; Spanish Parma Ham, Coppa Salami, red pepper stuffed olives, black truffle olive oil and rosemary and garlic loaf to name but a few.
