The Whisky Trio

Introducing the Whisky Trio; inspired by our Highland Hotel and now available in our Restaurant in Tarporley, 59 at The Hollies. Enjoy all 3 drams of whisky for £9 or individually for £3.95 each.

Aberlour 10 yr

Nose: Sweet and full. Sherried raisins, hints of toffee and a pleasant nuttiness.

Palate: Quite full-bodied, spicy rich fruitcake, toffee notes and a creamy malty-feel and the vaguest whisper of something akin to synthetic banana.

Finish: Caramel and honey, the malt still evident and the sweet spices still linger.

Tomatin 12yr 

Nose: Medium-bodied and well-balanced. There are notes of toasted cereals and barley. Hints of winter spice and buttery pepper emanating from the toasty oak. Hints of dark sugar and cut flowers with a note of malt extract, rum and apple peel.

Palate: Good body and quite sweet. There are notes of fudge and dark sugar, winter spice and a touch of vinosity, notes of toffee apple and Bramley peel with notes of dried herbs.

Finish: Good length with notes of boiled sweets and fruity sweetness

Muckrach 15yr

Nose: beautifully balanced sherry aromas with vanilla pod, zesty orange and spicy ginger complemented by delicate chamomile and menthol notes.

Palate: luscious, rich fruit cake with stewed plum, red apple skin and the sharp edge of kiwi fruit.

Finish: Sweet malty aromas combined with Sherry notes. Rich fruit flavours with candied fruit and vanilla also present.
